To refrain from agricultural work [in the seventh year]

The verse · Shemot 34:21
שֵׁשֶׁת יָמִים תַּעֲבֹד וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי תִּשְׁבֹּת בֶּחָרִישׁ וּבַקָּצִיר תִּשְׁבֹּת
“Six days thou shalt work, but on the seventh day thou shalt rest: in plowing and in harvest thou shalt rest.”
The Rambam’s words
To refrain from agricultural work [in the seventh year], as [Exodus 34:21] states: "From plowing and harvesting, you shall rest."
