To dwell in a sukkah for seven days
לישב בסוכה שבעת ימים
The verse · Vayikra 23:42
בַּסֻּכֹּת תֵּשְׁבוּ שִׁבְעַת יָמִים כׇּל־הָאֶזְרָח בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל יֵשְׁבוּ בַּסֻּכֹּת
“You shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are home born in Yisra᾽el shall dwell in booths:”
The Rambam’s words
To dwell in a sukkah for seven days, as [Leviticus 23:42] states: "And you shall dwell in sukkot for seven days."
לישב בסוכה שבעת ימים, שנאמר: "בסוכות תשבו, שבעת ימים" (ויקרא כג,מב).
